Yeah, I know.  Pretty sweet.  I found this out yesterday.  Sometimes, there is a show that you love, or maybe even a band, and they have a ton of awesome content out there.  You indulge in what is available, and then you fiend for more.  You wait and wait, but nothing happens, and there are no news flashes to calm your urges.  Then you forget, and stop waiting for the new shit to come out.

That is how it happened with the Mighty Boosh.  I was heavy on the Boosh for quite a while.  It’s definitely one of the funniest shows out there.  I have watched seasons 1 & 2 so many times, and now I will get to see some new stuff finally.  IF you don’t know what the show is about, this is what Wikipedia says:

“ The Mighty Boosh is a British cult comedy about two friends who go on magical adventures. It appeared initially as a series of stage shows, then a BBC radio series and subsequently a BBC Three TV series.”

Ben Lyons was telling me earlier about a sports columnist suggesting alternate movie scenes for those new Direct TV ads.  For anyone who hasn’t seen these commecials, essentially they recreate a familiar scene from a movie or show, and make it into an ad for Direct TV.  Now the process of suggesting alternate scenes, can be hilarious.

First, you must watch one of the legit clips.  Here, choose your own adventure:  step on the beach with Pam, Doc Brown and his flux capacitor, Spock and Kirk, or fighting Aliens.

Now you have a frame of reference and free reign.  Let your mind wander.  With all the talk of Top 5’s of everything this weekend, I figure this is a great category.  Let’s do this.

Top 5 Alternate Scenes for Direct TV Ads.

1.  Here is an ‘Oh Shit!’ warning.  Hannibal eats brains, while talking about the benefits of Direct TV or victim talks about it after finishing his meal.

2.  Brutal Arnold scream in Predator.  Gives the ad talk either before or after the scream, comedic value is not sacrificed.

3.  Army of Darkness Boomstick presentation.  ” Shop Smart, shop for Direct TV.”

4.  The Monster Squad, Wolfman crotch kick.  “Wolfman’s got nards!!! And Direct TV has blah blah blah.”

5.  Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, when the guy is about to get his heart ripped out.  Right after the pull his heart from his chest, he could start rambling about Direct TV and how awesome it is.

UPDATE: 5.5.  Lord Voldemort, in Order of the Phoenix when he does the ridiculous rockstar pose.  The montage in Harry’s mind stops and Voldemort calmly talks about Direct TV.  Priceless, trust me.

Martin Van Buren Bates, André René Roussimoff, and Anna Haining Swan is a short list of Human Giants.  It would be nice if Martin Van Buren Bates were on the Van Buren Boys team.  Though, it is quite the coincidence that he practically shares a name with the original inspiration for the gang.

The point is, if you haven’t watched all 8 episodes of the Human Giant, you need to.

Also, this is sweet.

So Tegan and Sara did an interview with the guys from Human Giant at one point.  I just stumbled across it today.  I am a fan of both crews.

Blast from the past.  This is a great piece of nostalgia for me.  I have also discovered that I will be watching the entire series on Stage6.  Two episodes down and 31 to go.
