As I was leaving the MySpace main page, something caught my eye. The Dillinger Escape Plan is a featured MySpace Artist! Total mind blow. Things are changing. It used to be that most the music I listened to, was out of the public mediasphere. I thought I was cool because of it, so I took pride in obscurity. The first time I heard DEP was when I was a sophmore in high school. They were on a Go-Kart Records sampler that I got at Hot Topic. The song was 43% Burnt, and it tore my head off…
Now the sound of DEP can actually make it to the front page of MySpace, and I’m sure the fan base for extreme metal is as big as ever. I suppose I should get upset about any mainstream coverage that my ’secret’ bands get, but what do I care anymore.
Anyways, if you like metal and you want something to check out, I suppose you should peep their new release, Ire Works. Just have a listen over at MySpace until November 13th.
