In a couple of days, I will officially be walking the streets of Boston. The Boston Invitational is this weekend and the Van Buren Boys hope to make a strong debut. I am confident that we will have a decent impact on our pool and the elite division as a whole. As an over-confident player, I have always thought highly of my skills and of the standouts in my area. Basically, the people that taught me, are national caliber players in my opinion. In my experiences, though I have had few in Ultimate, it seems that the people that are known threats are just people too. I had the chance to play against the Wisconsin Hodags twice this year, and though I was very impressed with the offense and stifling defense, I never felt I couldn’t play for a team like that…
Getting more to the point, I expect that every one of the Van Buren Boys carry themselves with the same if not more confidence than when they stepped onto the team. There is no reason we can’t compete with the teams we are up against, if we carry ourselves how we should.
This turned into a rant quickly, but I hope I don’t sound like a confused college player who thinks his regionally competitive team is about to take over the Ultimate Universe.
Go VBB.
